was born in Bologna (IT) on September 10th, 1975. He began to play self-taught on 1988. He has deepened his own formation during the years, learning a lot from the direct musical activity of practice, researching and projecting with other musicians, and through seminars and workshops, studing and playing among the others with Barre Phillips, Tristan Honsinger, Edoardo Marraffa, William Parker, Anthony Braxton, Roscoe Mitchell, Muhall R. Abrahams, Marc Ribot. He is a co-founder of the Comanda Barabba 5et, which has been active since 2000. In 2005 he was recognised as being among the best composers by the specialized national press, and the Comanda Barabba 5et earned a mention as one of the best italian avant-jazz band. He has composed and performed for cinema, theater and multimedia (prizes Prima Aziz '03, Favolando '04, Interculture Map '05). Actively collaborative in the improvised music and avant-jazz scene, he coordinate the Open Sessions (open improvisation meetings) at the Popular School of Music "Ivan Illich" (which is selfconducted by students and teachers since from 1992), where he's involved in teaching, coordination and conducting laboratoires. He collaborate together with some italian collectives (Bassesfere, Bologna Improvisers, Gnu) dedicated for the developing and diffusion of improvised music.
